Trees of the Frel

Black Walnut - down by the creek

The nut is inside this green hull

Bodark - the wood is extremely hard, and is desirable for making archery bows.

Cedar Elm - there are lots of these on the rocky hill, including one next to the new patio

Huisache - our most hated tree! :-)

Live Oak - huge shade trees found all over the property

Pecan - found in the sandy pasture; ours are native varieties with tiny fruit

Post Oak - several large ones on the rocky hill (they are very sensitive trees, and two in the yard have recently died)

Rain Tree

Red Cedar - the berries can be used to make a fermented beverage

Redbud - not sure which variety.

Trifoliate Orange - in the pasture, where the trail splits right/left, on the fork to the right

Yaupon Holly - found everywhere!
